I am hiding a little bit.

[ She doesn't like to admit it, but that's the truth. Ariel isn't the only one who runs when she's feeling off. Cosette moves around the table and folds her arms over the front of her lab coat, goggles already pushed over her forehead. ]

What is happening out there?

[hushful]

Absolutely nothing.

[ ariel rolls her eyes and tries not to slump.

she fails, and totally slumps against the wall and sighs. a lack of productivity, she'd expected. but there's also the adventure she'd expected, and not these long rounds of boredom. ]

Kinda wish we'd float into a black hole or something.

[larks]

[ Gasp! ] Ariel, don't say that! I would hate to be pulled into an alternate time line.

[ Cosette frowns and pulls down the hose from the center console to water some foreign fauna. ] That is simply messy business and I don't think any of us would be prepared for that kind of thing.

[hushful]

But it would be exciting.

[ that's really all she cares about right now. it's not like a fight's broken out in the corridors to distract her from this lull in entertainment. ]

We might even come back out again, who knows!

[larks]

It would not be exciting, it would be awful and terrible.

[ The frown turns into a scowl. ]

We would find ourselves in the middle of a war, or behind enemy lines.

[hushful]

Not necessarily.

[ how did ariel even get on this ship is the question. timelines? science? i don't - ]

Nobody knows whether or not it'd be bad.

But who is to say that it will be good?

I would rather not meddle in the affairs of the timestream and black holes. There's so much unexplored universe here anyhow.
